Sander Bos English
Sander Bos born in 1988 in a small town in Groningen in the netherlands. for several years he is a ambitious painter and he currently studies art on academy Minerva in Groningen. His paintings are very unusual to say the least. He is interested in portraying and exploring the energetic flash experienced during altered states of consciousness. Visions of glowing symbols , lost civilizations, healing journeys, beings of light, infinite spaces but also the dark and surreal aspects it can have. He also has major interests in the occult, shamanism, magic and mythology. Always puts his deepest visions and findings down in a fine manner of oil painting or by digital means striving to get better and better.
He says:
"The urge to portrait something that is invisible to ordinary perception was always present. The paint came out to be the perfect medium because of its flexibility and wide range of possibilities. The technique used in my work is closely related to the classic method of oil painting. The paintings are made in complex layers of transparency and I am constantly trying to make this technique my own by experimenting with it. I want the viewer to experience something new, something magic, supernatural or sometimes bizarre."
